Job: Loan Underwriter (consumer)

Seeking an Innovative Thinker who enjoys underwriting primarily consumer loans. On occasion may provide back up assistance to mortgage underwriter.


Summary:
Manages underwriting decisions, internal and vendor automated approval matrixes, and FastStart score card. Reviews loan applications to evaluate, classify and rate individuals for loan requests and approves or declines applications to accomplish production goals. Ideal candidate will have proven decision-making experience that understands the concept of loan growth without comprising risk tolerance levels, safety and soundness of the loan portfolio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop, nurture and maintain an excellent relationship with Sales assosciates.
• Review loans daily which are approved and declined through the internet, FastStart, and internal automated approval matrix and score card system.
-Make sound underwrinting decisions including quality assurance.

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required. Some college coursework preferred with an emphasis in business administration, finance or closely related field. Minimum 3 - 5 years progressive experience in consumer and mortgage lending.
