Job: Police Communications Operator

To provide rapid response to law enforcement agencies or any other emergency needs and give directions, information, or other aid.

Specific Job Related Duties
Dispatch, speak clearly and distinctly. Correctly type calls for service in CAD. Answer multi phone lines clearly and distinctly. Perform simultaneously cad/phones/alarms with accuracy. Monitor intrusion and fire alarms, criminal and data entry. Analyze situations quickly, accurately taking effective action.

Min Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. After employment, successful completion of a minimum of 40 hours of training for a Police Telecommunications Operator as mandated by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education. Must pass typing test at a net rate of 20 wpm.

Preferred Skill/Competency
Cleared to work security sensitive environment. Pass polygraph and background checks. Type accurately at 20 words per minute. Drug testing and psychological testing.

Must be able to work all shifts - days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
