PT LVN (Cullen Residence Hall)

Location: 3550 W. Dallas

Schedule: Weekends Only

Responsibilities: (includes interrelationships & workers supervised)

This position, while charged with specific functions as listed under principal responsibilities, will be required to participate in the overall operations of the Infirmary, including the usual expectations of a person trained as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. These duties may include, but are not limited to, accompanying residents to the doctor or hospital in the event of an emergency, reporting medication discrepancies and/or problems to the nursing supervisor, and a willingness to take direction and assignment charges when necessary. Responsible for providing basic nursing and health care needs of the residents. Requires responsibility for administering first aid, providing on-going medical treatments, nursing documentation and promotion of preventive health care. Attend resident’s ITM’s as required by floor assignment. Assist with semi-annual chart audits.

Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing. Two years current clinical experience. Basic knowledge of nursing skills. Possess a thorough knowledge of medication administration process. Know and understand the LVN role in team concept of patient care. Current registration with the Licensing Board of Vocational Nursing in the state of Texas. CPR and SAMA upon hire and annually thereafter.
