Job Title: ADMINISTRATIVE SUPERVISOR
Salary: $1,354.00 - $2,089.00 Biweekly $35,204.00 - $54,314.00 Annually Job Type: Full-Time Location: 8000 N. Stadium, Texas 06956 ALL PERSONS INTERESTED Health & Human Services Office of Surveillance & PH Preparedness HIV/STD Prevention* 8000 North Stadium, 8th floor* M - F, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.* *Subject to change DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Performs varied administrative functions in the direction and coordination of programs and procedures in the HIV/STD Prevention. Monitors investigative procedures, disease surveillance and control activities, and special studies conducted by Surveillance staff. Ensures compliance with established surveillance and disease control guidelines and protocols. Oversees and monitors routine analysis of reportable conditions, and the performance of other activities by subordinates. Submits reports and analysis to supervisor. Regularly monitors use of human and other resources, and develops strategies to maximize their utilization. Hires, trains, supervises, evaluates, mentors, and develops subordinate staff. Represents the Bureau before the medical community, state, and federal agencies, on committees, task forces, and professional organizations. WORKING CONDITIONS The position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. Skills / Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Political Science, Psychology or a closely related field. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Three (3) years of experience in personnel, administration, accounting or a closely related field are required. Directly related professional experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis. MINIMUM LICENSE REQUIREMENTS Valid Texas Driver's License and compliance with the City of Houston policy on driving (AP 2-2). PREFERENCES: Preferences will be given to applicants who have experience in the public health field. Working knowledge of STD/HIV Surveillance.
