Salary Range - $105200 - $157800 Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Global Business Development (GBD), the Director is responsible for the expansion of MD Anderson Cancer Center's (MDACC) business development through executing business development opportunities in the local/regional, national and international markets. The Director will be able to implement any project (consulting and extensions) post contract signature through implementation and into operations in a fashion that ensures key internal and external stakeholders are informed and engaged at all times. The Director will serve to provide direction and management oversight to non-clinical teams while working in a collaborative manner with the clinical and academic teams to ensure efficiency and communication across all projects. Essential Job Functions ? Analyze and implement external business based on established strategic criteria to advance the mission areas of MD Anderson. ? Successfully manage high level external relationships to ensure that the vision and mission of all Global Business Development projects are met and maintained over time. ? Provide input in the negotiations process for business ventures and work closely with the Global Business Development Vice President and Associate Vice President to negotiate and activate external business operations in an efficient and effective manner. ? Provide input, budgeting, and analysis in the financial operations of business activities across all programs within Global Business Development. ? Provide direction and lead project management teams in large scale environments to ensure that the standards of MD Anderson are met and maintained. ? Provide input toward the formulation of the strategic plan for development of external business activities. ? Maintain existing relationships in a positive framework, internal and external to MDACC, with representatives in government, in the corporate/healthcare sector, physicians, and patients with a view towards expanding the institution's interest to build external business ventures. ? Develop and implement tactical plans for new and existing projects and extensions and communicate these plans and obtain input for appropriate institutional buy-in. ? Secures appropriate institutional involvement and provides direction to ensure that our stockholders within the institution are informed, educated and involved in all GBD initiatives. ? Works collaboratively with the Office for Global Clinical Programs, Global Academic Programs, faculty and staff throughout the institution to optimize the implementation of all GBD products. ? Position requires travel to sites outside of Houston and, upon return, will analyze and present information.
Job Description-Requirements Education Required: Bachelor's degree in a business or healthcare related field. Preferred: Masters of Business Administration or Health Administration. Experience Required: Minimum of five (5) years' experience in progressively responsible management positions with emphasis on business development, preferably in healthcare. Preferred: Eight (8) years of experience in the healthcare field in sales and promotions serving in aggressively responsible managerial roles, with expertise in healthcare/cancer care financial matters and operations.
