Helping Houston’s at-risk youth stay on a productive path

Our organization gives Houston’s economically disadvantaged and at-risk high school students the educational opportunities they need to get ahead. We fulfill a critical need in the community: escalating drop-out rates leave many of these young people without the education and skills needed to fill service jobs in the health, professional, and other high-tech fields.

Currently, we are expanding our program to include low-to-moderate income (LMI) families. Vital among this target group are people with disabilities, as well as military personnel and their families.

By serving LMI families, we are exposing them to multiple organizations, and helping them move closer to successfully reaching their goals of self-sufficiency and/or self-employment.

We are pleased to have the support of U.S. Congressman Al Green, State Senator Rodney Ellis, State Representative Jessica Farrar, State Representative Dr. Alma Allen, CenterPoint Energy, First Convenience Bank, and other organizations.

Beyond Careers is a community-based, 501(c) (3), non-profit organization founded on July 7, 2003. Federal and state tax-exempt certifications were awarded on July 09, 2004.
