The company serves a national client base of hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and home health agencies, as well as psychiatric and rehabilitation facilities. Nearterm's oil and gas team provides placement to the E&P and OEM sides of the indsutry.

James L. Higgins – President & Founder Mr. Higgins has over twenty years of success as a professional recruiter. He specializes in the recruitment of healthcare executives, with emphasis on Chief Financial Officers, Directors of Patient Financial Services and Medical Records Directors.

Every year since 1988, he has been a Houston Association of Personnel Consultants Top Ten Producer Nominee as well as a Texas Association of Personnel Consultants Top Fifteen Producer Nominee. Mr. Higgins began as the President and a Co-Founder of Excel Unlimited, Inc. and Co-Founder of Nearterm Corporation, a company providing interim management services to the healthcare industry. On April 1, 2008 the companies of Excel Unlimited, Inc., NearTerm Corp. and Scott & Matthews, Inc. merged to form Nearterm Corporation.
