Profile: AZTEC Tents & Events

In February 2003, Aztec and Mr. Johnson purchased a 50% stake in Double Eagle Sports & Events, LLC. The company is presently doing business as Shaffer Sports Events (“Shaffer”) with an office/warehouse in Coshocton, Ohio and supporting facilities in Aztec’s Houston location. Shaffer has an exclusive contract with the PGA Tour Management Corp. to provide tents and other rental items to a select group of PGA tour events, most notably The Player’s Championship, the Tour Championship, Barclay’s, Bridgestone, and the President’s Cup. This contract has just been renewed through December 31, 2012. Shaffer has an extensive inventory of clear span and frame tents and over 32 employees in Ohio and in the field.

In November of 2007, Aztec Tents and Events and Shaffer Sports Events acquired the assets of Colonnade Events and Events A La Carte. This acquisition adds additional inventory to better serve the Houston market and additional contracts to expand our growing golf business This acquisition also provides the additional client base and products to enhance Aztec’s position in the Houston market. Additionally, the purchase of Colonnade’s tent inventory creates a springboard for Shaffer’s entry into other sporting events beside golf while further enhancing our ability to service the PGA’s needs. Aztec plans to consolidate Colonnade’s Houston warehouse with their existing location on 6^th Street in the Heights while Shaffer plans to operate from both its current location in Ohio as well as from the Birmingham, Alabama, location assumed from Colonnade. Upon the completion of this acquisition, Aztec and Shaffer combined will have about 360 employees.

Aztec has a full range of rental items to handle any event - from small family gatherings to large corporate events. The inventory consists of tents, tables, chairs, linens, fine china, catering equipment, cooking equipment, concession equipment, flooring, sound & lighting, air conditioning units, remote power units, and comfort stations.
