ABOUT OUR FIRM 

Charter Staffing is a Houston-based office clerical, accounting,  administrative and legal staffing agency.  As well, mock juries for case evaluations and translators are also available through Charter Staffing.   We specialize in servicing clients' needs for Direct Hire, Temp-to-Hire and Temporary personnel.

Charter Staffing recognizes the fact that we have the ability, experience and contacts to assist our applicants and clients beyond merely placing an applicant in a position.  We closely consult with our clients concerning their staffing requirements.  Charter Staffing assists applicants by revising and critiquing their resumes and conducts extensive personal interviews.  Ideas and leads are suggested to the applicants on how to market themselves.  We maintain an honorable reputation and we have sincere interests in the future of our applicants and clients.

Because we are a local company, we are able to make immediate decisions and we do respond timely to our applicants and clients.  Once you work with Charter Staffing, reintroductions are never necessary.

In 2009, Charter Staffing has added two staffing companies as partners to enhance our client development and applicant recruitment.  All of us have already joined resources this year and have recently made a special pledge to specifically encourage newly unemployed applicants and locate opportunities for them.

BENEFITS:

Applicant/Employees are paid every Thursday.  It is the applicant's responsibility to turn in his timesheet on a timely basis in order to receive a weekly paycheck.  Charter Staffing and our partners are committed to market you once you have completed and passed our application process.  Confidentiality is of upmost importance and is always maintained.

OWNERS:

JO SCHORP

Jo’s career spans many years within the legal community of Houston, Texas as a legal secretary/paralegal, and degreed accountant for several local law firms.  Her career in staffing began in 1993 and she opened Charter Staffing in January, 2003.  Jo is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and The University of Houston.

Over the years, Jo has continually placed top candidates with the premier businesses and law firms in Houston.   Her honest reputation has been the basis for Charter Staffing's enduring success.   

BILL SCHORP   

Bill joined Charter Staffing with Jo after many years as a consultant in the environmental remediation field.  He is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin.  Bill is the Office Manager and directs all administrative functions for Charter Staffing. 

CHARITABLE INVOLVEMENT:

Jo and Bill are active contributors and supporters of Abilene Christian University (Abilene), St. Thomas High School (Houston), St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church (Houston), St. Luke's United Methodist Church (Houston), United Methodist Women, Ducks Unlimited, Goodwill Industries and the Charter Staffing Annual Christmas Card Project for Woodrow Wilson Elementary School (Houston).
