Blog Post: Lane Staffing Career Fair Updates and Information

We have had a ton of calls regarding the Wednesday, May 20, 2009, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Lane Staffing Career & Health Fair thanks to Jobing.com! We're gearing up for a great job fair.

Hopefully, the below responds to most of the questions we have received:

• Yes! We still have a few employer booth spaces available. And, yes! It's free, entirely sponsored by Lane Staffing, Inc. Please contact MWH Public Relations at 281.213.9554 or margo@mwhpublicrelations.com for an application.
• Some 500-700 applicants are expected.
• Yes! A variety of employers will be represented in addition to Lane Staffing, Inc. To name a few: Wal-Mart, HPD, Workforce Solutions, Houston Works (summer youth employment), Beacon Home Health Agency (home health aids, physical therapists), A-Rocket Moving & Storage, FUUSA (summer youth employment), Dignity Service Corp. (sales), Frenchy's Chicken, METRO, Citizens Life (seeking non-licensed agents for training program), several health organizations and financial institutions, plus multiple temporary (short- and long-term) positions (professional, accounting, technical, clerical, light industrial, medical, warehouse, etc.) in a variety of industries through Lane Staffing, Inc.
• Job Seekers: Bring your resume and dress in interview attire.
• Free counseling available throughout the day regarding resume writing, job finding strategies and what job seekers should be doing now to position themselves until the market improves.
• A 1 p.m. panel discussion will be held, with a teen focus, covering topics such as: character, work ethic, resume writing, job applications, grooming and presentations. A few teens will compete in the Lane Staffing Idol Contest.
• The Career & Health Fair will be held at a new, beautiful facility called the Kingdom Builders' Center, 6011 West Orem Street, Houston, TX 77085, between South Post Oak and Hillcroft Avenue, accessible via Beltway 8 (Hillcroft exit) or 610 Loop (South Post Oak exit).
