Blog Post: Money-Saving Job Fair Tips
posted Sunday, May 17, 2009 2:00 AM
You don't need to spend extra money to make a good impression on potential employers. Here are some tips to make sure your preparation doesn't break your budget.
-Skip the fancy paper resumes or make fewer copies using high-cost paper. Also, collect as much information as you can and follow up after the event. A good practice is to collect as much information as you give out.
-Neatness counts! You don't necessarily need a new suit to dress to impress. Just make sure that your clothes are neatly pressed and free from lint and stains. Take extra care to be neatly groomed, rested and organized - these efforts will help you give a great impression without costing you more money. Watch the video below for suggestions on finding professional clothing at a super price!
-Take advantage of free services at the Job Fair. Get your resume reviewed. Network with employers as well as other job seekers. Attend workshops and take notes. The next Jobing.com Career Expo is coming up on May 19th at the Humble Civic Center. Don't miss this opportunity to meet face to face with local companies.
