Blog Post: Job Fair 101

posted Saturday, June 14, 2008 9:58 PM

I don’t know about the rest of you, but my feet hurt for the next two days after the Jobing.com Job Fair! Don’t get me wrong, because I’m ready to do the next one in August, but I will be more prepared. I don’t think as much emphasis is put on my shoes opposed to the job seeker. We had lots of folks at our booth, which meant not much time to sit down. And that’s ok!

AAA+ to Jobing.com! My booth partner, Chris Cowart, was quite impressed that Jobing.com unloaded his display from his car and took it to our booth. I already knew that, thanks to Steven Shannon, my Industry Specialist. I didn’t want to share all of my Jobing.com secrets with Chris. I wanted Chris to experience it from the beginning with no expectations. And Chris was surprised!

We had ssssoooooo many job seekers at our booth. We did not turn down a single job seeker. If we couldn’t hire them, we gave them contacts, or I should say Chris gave them contact leads and I gave them Internet sites. It was amazing. I learned so much about the present and future job seekers entering the health care industry. Extremely smart folks, understanding the baby boomers/retirement movement and plotting their career very carefully.

Many “Thanks” to all of Jobing.com folks, but for me in particular a few folks because we have created a relationship over the past couple of months. I was amazed at how we were taken care of; from the point of arrival to the exit. Jobing.com folks are a rare breed, totally understanding relationships, bonding with employers and job seekers. With that said, I personally say “thank you” to: Steven Shannon, my Industry Specialist, Gerard Senegal, Industry Manager, Todd Covelli, Community Videographer, Fritz Lawson, Community Relations Manager, and Peter Difilippantonio, Community Relations Manager.

Steven was my first contact with Jobing.com, explaining how it all worked. Gerard came to our office to discuss how we were and what we could be. Todd created a perfect video with our staff, all speaking from their heart. Fritz and Peter welcomed me into the blogging world, encouraged me and welcomed me to the Jobing.com Job Fair with hugs and kisses. You may be running ads looking for employees, but with Jobing.com, you get a team of supportive folks that are really interested in you and want to help you succeed and find the right employee. Again, thanks Jobing.com for making our job fair a success!
